Safe AND functional. Just what an old man needs.
I’m giving this a full 5 stars even though there is a design flaw that I don’t like. This ladder is lightweight and as I needed, very sturdy with wide steps so I that I don’t fall off so easy. The handle on the top is the good AND bad to this story. The handle extends upward and locks into place to make me more stable. This handle collapses down so that when folded up and collapsed, it takes up minimal space in the corner. Here’s the rub… that handle doesn’t lock into place when it’s down. What this means to me is, when I grab the folded up ladder to move it and I grab the top handle, it flies up abruptly. I have developed the habit of grabbing the steps by the top step to move it so that it doesn’t get an attitude.I paid more money for good steps like these because Walmart’s 3-step plastic steps almost killed me. I was on step number two when their cheap pop-rivets holding the step gave away. I was lucky and learned a lesson. Pay extra and get the good stuff.

Small Ladder
Perfect to have around the house. Helps with items that are out of reach. Lightweight so it can be easily transported and foldable so it can be stored out of sight. Very sturdy. A must have.

SAFE & SECURE
It’s a must have for any home! The Step Ladder only weighs 10 lbs so easy to carry, easy open, very sturdy and has a Retractable Handle which is a bonus feature, steps have a good depth which adds to the Sturdiness and Safety also “legs” have skid proof rubber bottoms for Safety! The design of this Step Ladder is all about Sturdiness and Stability…a definite win win 🏆I am a 76 yr old woman living alone and have always been self reliant then had 2 injuries resulting in mobility issues that I am nearing the end of Rehab. I feel Safe and Secure on this ladder!Bonus feature is that I feel Independent and empowered !!!

super sturdy
Very impressed. Solid and sturdy and love the deeper treads and the handrail grasp. A little on the heavy side, but to be expected due to solid durable construction. The bronze finish is very pretty, especially if you plan to use it and store it inside your home. Caution, be careful of retracting handle it is quite swift and hard, read directions and keep finger clear.

Exceptional Ladder
Great Sturdy ladder, I had to return and reorder because the Handgrip was not pulling out only on one side. Obviously a defect, but I like it so much I reordered. A must have for anyone, worth the money. Lightweight, to carry, but sturdy and strong to hold your weight the steps and sturdiness make you feel secure.

Makes climbing easy!
This ladder is lightweight yet sturdy. It folds down easily and can be stored in narrow spaces. The steps are deep enough to step in and stay balanced. The handle extension works smoothly and helps us feel safer up high.

I Love This 5-Step Ladder!
I already have a 3-step aluminum ladder that’s great for use in the house. But often it’s too short for things like changing bulbs in overhead lights, or hanging a flagpole off the house. I liked the description of this 5-step one, and the reviews were mostly favorable. The beta review checker gave the reviews an “A” for reliability.It is everything it’s supposed to be, and more. I did not find any of the shortcomings some of the reviewers described–flimsy, wobbly, not fit for a senior. I am a senior, and I feel quite safe on it.The ladder is well constructed of mainly aluminum; it seems to have some other metal joints and plastic parts. The four feet on the ladder are shown as “rubber” in one of the photos in the listing, but are described as “PVC” in the description. They are plastic. The steps are wide and grooved, so they are quite safe. On a level surface (the cement landing at my front door) it is solid as a rock–not a millimeter of wobble with this 140 lb person on it. It does wobble on my brick walk, but that’s because the bricks aren’t level–no fault of the ladder. I love the retractable handle. It gives me something to hold an lean against when I am on one of the higher rungs. The handle locks into place. To slide it back down, you press two locking buttons, one on each side. Another nice feature is a strap with Velcro closure that goes around the handle and holds is in place, so it doesn’t slide out during transport. There were less weighty ladders available (this one is 15 lbs), but I’m glad I opted for this one, because I really feel safe on it.There was just one small issue. When I unpacked it, I noticed a dent in the front of the lower step. It’s not serious enough to warrant returning or exchanging the ladder. I phoned Amazon about it, and they gave me a generous partial refund.I am very happy, and look forward to many years of use. As soon as I finish this, I’m will use it to replace the batteries in one of my security cameras!

Light-weight makes this very movable.
I was looking for a 5-step light ladder to use in my kitchen, which has 10-foot ceilings, making top shelves inaccessibile for my 5’4″ stature. This arrived a few days ago, and I couldn’t be more pleased with its construction. It is easily folded back for storage, has wide stairs and is very stable, despite its light weight. It requires no assembly other than locking in the retractable hand grip. I am 78 years old and felt very comfortable climbing to the top step while decorating our Christmas tree. When folded up, it is narrow enough to fit between my garage refrigerator and freezer. Really enjoy the negineering behind this handy step ladder.

Light, but sturdy. Safer, with the handgrip.
Fairly light for a four-step, but sturdy – an 180 lb person found it stable and secure. Opens and closes smoothly. Quite satisfied with this replacement for our three-step which was heavier and also didn’t have a hand grip for stability. The retractable hand grip is a neat idea – stows more compactly than a fixed bar would allow, but still feels sturdy.
